Tsinandali

Where Georgian wine became world-class

Tsinandali

Tsinandali is the estate where Georgian wine first transcended its borders. In the 19th century, Prince Alexander Chavchavadze—poet, diplomat, and visionary—imported European techniques to his family estate, creating Georgia's first bottled, cellar-aged white wine and winning international gold medals. The restored palace, with its English gardens, original French wallpapers, and wine cellar still holding 19th-century vintages, tells the story of a small nation confidently joining the world without surrendering its soul. This is where qvevri tradition met modernity, where a prince proved Georgia belonged on the global wine map, and where visitors still taste that legacy in every glass.
