Vachnadziani

Where Kakheti's ancient vines still whisper

Vachnadziani

Vachnadziani sits in the heart of Kakheti's wine country, its name synonymous with one of Georgia's most storied wineries. Founded in 1953 during the Soviet era but built upon centuries of local viticulture, Vachnadziani Winery remains among the country's largest and most historically significant producers. Its sprawling cellars hold vast quantities of wine made in both European and traditional qvevri methods. The estate offers unusually comprehensive tours—rare for a working facility of this scale—taking visitors through fermentation halls, underground tunnels, and tasting rooms where Saperavi and Rkatsiteli flow freely. For wine pilgrims, this is working heritage: no museum piece, but a living artery of Georgian viniculture where Soviet industrial scale meets 8,000 years of uninterrupted tradition.
