Skuri

Healing waters in emerald Samegrelo forest

Skuri

Skuri is a balneological resort where Tsalenjikha's mineral springs have drawn visitors since Soviet times, when sanatoriums formalized what locals knew for generations: carbonated hydrogen sulfide waters rising from deep geological faults. The forest setting matters as much as the chemistry—Samegrelo's subtropical humidity creates a microclimate where summer temperatures stay 5-7°C below the lowland norm. The waters treat metabolic and nervous system disorders; the place treats the soul. Unlike overdeveloped spa towns, Skuri remains unpretentious, its wooden walkways and Soviet-era pavilions half-reclaimed by moss and fern. You come for the prescribed drinking cure, the therapeutic baths, and the profound stillness between treatments.
