Shekvetili Dendrological Park

Where the Black Sea breathes through rare trees

Shekvetili Dendrological Park

Shekvetili Dendrological Park unfolds across 70 hectares of former Soviet-era experimental forest, transformed in 2015 into one of Georgia's most ambitious living collections. Over 2,000 woody species from five continents thrive here—Japanese cherry, Californian sequoia, Himalayan pine—arranged not as rigid taxonomy but as wandering poetry. The park embodies Georgia's quiet renaissance: a space where scientific purpose surrendered to public wonder. Walk the elevated canopy trail at golden hour and the sea appears through gaps in foliage like a promise kept. It is worth the journey because nowhere else on this coast can you stand among Australian eucalyptus and hear Caucasian waves.
