Anaklia

Where the Enguri meets the Black Sea

Anaklia

Anaklia is Georgia's newest coastal destination, purpose-built since 2014 on the site of a historic 19th-century trading settlement. The long sandy beach stretches along the Black Sea where the Enguri River forms the border with Abkhazia. The Dancing Fountains on the riverbank—300 jets synchronized to music and light—have become the town's emblem. Unlike Soviet-era resorts to the north, Anaklia offers clean infrastructure, a pedestrian promenade, and a rare sense of open space. It serves as gateway to the Colchis wetlands and the upcoming Lazika development, making it a strategic base for exploring Samegrelo's subtropical coast.
