Akhaldaba Waterfall

Forest cascades above Borjomi's valley

Akhaldaba Waterfall

Akhaldaba Waterfall tumbles through the dense mixed forests of the Borjomi Gorge, where the Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park meets village life. This multi-tiered cascade drops roughly 20 meters in stages, collecting in cold emerald pools that invite summer swimmers. The trail follows an old logging road past abandoned Soviet-era structures and through stands of fir and beech, offering glimpses of the Lesser Caucasus ridgeline. Unlike the crowded mineral water parks below, Akhaldaba remains genuinely local—families picnic here, shepherds pass with flocks. The falls reward those who seek Georgia's quieter wild places, where water and forest restore what Borjomi's famous baths merely suggest.
